Things Old, New and Sentimental

This past weekend we trimmed our tree with the boys. It was Luke's turn to pick out the tree and I think he chose a fine one. He decided on a Frasier Fir because he liked how it looked blue on the underside. Every year I enjoy the excitement in my children's eyes as they take out each ornament and ask about their history or find the treasures that they have made.
I always look forward to taking this ornament out and hanging it on our tree.

My talented sister made it years ago and I will treasure it always.

I can always find it because she decorated the box to match!
Isn't she clever.

I remember having this ornament on our tree when I was a little girl. Thanks mom for letting me raid your stash of antique ornaments last year!!!
Jack's favorite is his Polar Express ornament.
His Grandmother (Nannie) gave it to him several years ago. When you pull the gold cord the train goes around and it lights up.

Luke had two favorites.
He is and always has been my dinosaur lover so of course he picked his T-Rex...

and the Green Goblin with Spider-Man.
Who doesn't love superheroes?
My husband has several of these dough ornaments that his parent's have given him over the years.

Then there are always the treasures that my children make.

What I love about X-mas trees is that each one is unique and there are no two decorated alike.
I know this picture looks blurry but I did not realize how hard it is to take pictures of x-mas trees!!!

Here you can see the "blue" underside of the branches that my son liked so much.
I hope you are enjoying all the magic this season has to offer!
